Adventures in Mommy land- The tale of the car changing disaster.

This little guy knows what digits to call when he wants his Mommy... you could say he has me totally wrapped around his finger, hook-line-and sinker.

Yesterday was his 2 week baby check up. We are at a whopping 8 pounds and 4 ounces! Almost a pound up from last week! It validates me as a new mommy that things in booby dairy land are all systems go. At least I am not starving him! After his check up we headed to my OB to get paper work so we can get some moola from the disability insurance company. Apparently that kind of trip was not down in Jax land... We had a poopy fit. Several times. No really. An explosive horrid sound bellowed from his little bottom and a stench like none other. On more than one occasion. Yep. I plowed through all 4 diapers and 3 onesies I had packed for our trip that was going to only last less than 3 hours... Changing diapers in the back seat of a Honda Accord is a feat only to be accomplished by someone other than myself... or maybe it's just because I have a boy. But after the scene was set, the poopy disaster was semi cleaned- he let 'er rip...

Hosed. Yep... This Texas Ranger had to sit in someone else's dirty pee pants-- all the way home. If you don't have a little boy, you can't possibly understand the magnitude of this event. It comes with no warning! You can't deflect it... you can't run from it. That little weiner has a mind of its own.

This is the look I got after it was all said and done. I am sure he was very sorry.

Ah.... another day in Mommy land. I love my little Jax-a-rooney.

Put me in Coach...

Jason was so proud to be able to get Jax a playoff onesie made. It is of course, a million sizes to big at the moment, but it's so awesome he can support his Daddy's team. It breaks my heart that I can't watch the game... but the fact that I at least get to listen to it on the radio with this little boy, makes it all worth it.

Blissfully Grilled Cheesus...

A series of events unfolded a week ago that changed me forever. See, before February 11, 2011 (eerie how it's another 11th day... life changer? 9/11/01? 2/11/11? weird... and I digress...), there were 2 things on this Earth that rocked my world...

A good grilled cheese... and fountain Pepsi. I can't explain the next part so well with words, as they may stimulate my post-partum uncontrollable sob that may also trigger my post-partum pee pants problem (and I <3 my couch... hey! alliteration?) Here we go... can you piece it together?

See what I mean?...

Behold, children are a heritage from the LORD, the fruit of the womb a reward. Like arrows in the hand of a warrior are the children of one’s youth. Blessed is the man who fills his quiver with them! He shall not be put to shame when he speaks with his enemies in the gate.
(Psalms 127:3-5)

We tried singing "Jesus Loves Me" last night as a lullaby, and couldn't get past the first "Jesus loves me, this I know..." because all I have to do is look at this little guy, and KNOW. If this doesn't plunge someone into a deep relationship with Christ, I don't know what would. HE is SO perfect to give me this little perfect gift. Love it, love, love, love.

Now that I am all worked up... a grilled cheese does sound kind of good. Just like you Jesus.

She wants to die a horrid death. Que Bonquiqui's Momma, stage left...

There is no secret about it... I am seriously hating my Dr. in a mucho hateration way right now... She had me come in today for a full scope over biophysical exam, complete with an ultrasound and a non-stress test.. even though I am already overdue, she isn't even going to think about inducing me until MAYBE next Thursday... which will make me 41 weeks and 2 days...

I have a confession. I was not berry nice today, as I brought Bonquiqui with me to the appt. and tried to get her to induce Monday. Apparently, if you are healthy, but just a head case, there is no way things are going to be done to help a sista out. She gave me a BS schpeal about not wanting to "inconvenience" the Dr. on call that day because I am not a "medical risk" and they might have to stay after 5 to deliver me. What. The. F. ever. Can I use that excuse when I am teaching? "Eh... ya know.. I can't stay to tutor your kid, I may have to go over 4:00... and it's past my contract time, even though 'technically' it's my tutoring day." A parent would go Bobby Bouche on my ass!

I have an appt. Monday... she better hope I go into labor this weekend, or I am bringing Bonquiqui's momma with me.

The only remotely plus about today was seeing my precious little boy in a scandalous 3d ultrasound moment. The tech was trying to measure movements and seeing if he was practice breathing and couldn't see it on the "bad cable bill" view, so she switched to 3d mode-- which usually cost an upfront $150 and a separate VIP appointment. It was awesome.

He had his little arm tucked up under his chin, sleeping. He was pissed when she started violently jiggling my stomach to wake him up. Needless to say, I was pissed too. The hard kick to the right rib cage was not welcomed. I thought this was super sweet, his Daddy sleeps the exact same way...

This one isn't my total fave. He has a cute button nose just like mine :) I like how his fist is by his chin... fist pumpin' one for Momma...

While you are in there, do a fist pump for getting the heck out! I'll be sure to find a Jersey Shore Guido to do an official one to celebrate that...

The fur baby is having some issues...

My sweet kitty Baylee has been on me like white on rice since I got pregnant... The day this came up...

Our relationship has changed. He's been around since I left the dorm and spread my wings as a real grown up... 7 years ago. He has been there through thick and thin, the best roomie ever. I think he knows that soon, he will be playing second fiddle as the little man in my life...

Today I caught him sleeping smack in the middle of Jax's crib... This is the look I got. "What? You mean this isn't a new comfy bed for me? Why you gettin' pissed Mom? I can lay where ever I want around here!" Which is true... he is so spoiled. I am ashamed to say he runs this house, and I live here. He sits on the counter when I cook, he is the ultimate soux chef. He sits on the side of the tub and washes his feet in the water while I take a bath... he is a loon. I love him with ALL my heart... I wish I could tell him that things don't have to be different, just a little different for a while.

Peace, love, cat nip and the search for the cat whisperer...

It's 9 pm...

Do you know where your baby is? Why yes I do... he is still in my tummy. Come on Jaxon! Ollie, Ollie Oxenfree! (whatever that meant in a game of hide and go seek...) Come out, come out where ever you are (and we KNOW where you are hiding!) I won't even guard the base this time... I promise.

I learned 2 things today.

1. Extremely spicy red curry soup from Madam Mam's only causes you to have a Pepcid for dessert. It in no way causes you to go into labor.

2. Walking up and down the street does nothing but make your feet hurt.

If this is any indication on how my son is going to be on the outside... I feel his stubborn attitude is going to cause me to have to find one hell of a colorist. Thanks mother-in-law for the "You'll get yours" curse... last time I checked, I was an awesome kid. Why do I deserve to have to be put through the ringer?

Today is the day!

Yep.... it's February 8th... the beloved day I have circled on every calendar for 9 months. 9 LONG months... Jaxon is due today (despite what evil nurses who don't know math write on your chart... GO BACK TO 7th GRADE MATH!). There is a breath of relief that comes with knowing I made it to this day. I did it. I successfully cooked this little punk to the very last day. There is also too much anxiety in wondering when he will get here... it's worse than being a kid at Christmas time. There are times when I feel a little Monica Gueller from Friends-- preparing everything to the T. Yep that's already happened in his room. Every little onesie and diaper is placed just so... I just need him to get here!

Maybe he'll make an appearance today. After all, for weeks I've said "today is the day." Maybe he'll think so too...

peace, love and contractions (that actually are really labor this time...)

Snow day

A tale of winter wonder...

The neighbors have it well said...

winter kisses everywhere...

Peace

Toto, I don't think we're in Texas anymore...

So cold outside... so warm in my little casa.

Still awaiting the arrival of the pitter patter of my own little in-utero friend's feet...

Last night's forecast, Snowy with a serving of labor and delivery epic fail.

Projected 5 day forecast:

Saturday- cleaning fury of what is left of the "I don't want to clean this" areas...
Saturday night- cold with a chance of contractions, for real this time...
Sunday- Baby here by lunch time-- Super bowl partay in the hospital suite.
Sunday night- kick out the family visitors, alone time with Daddy and baby.
Monday- sampling the gourmet hospital food at Seton
Monday night- Ready to go home
Tuesday- arrival at Casa de Woodall- beginning a great journey of Mommy-hood.

Hope I can call this one better than the weather 'pros'...
